Wedding Parties

The Officiant: Glenn Giokaris

One of the most sincere, thoughtful, hard working, genuinely good people we are lucky enough to call our friend.  I (Pasi) had the honor of conducting the ceremony for Glenn and Sarah's wedding and am so thankful that Glenn agreed to return the favor.  After graduating from Stanford, Glenn spent several years living and working in Nigeria, Uganda, and Washington DC before returning to California to obtain his masters degree in education and begin teaching.   Glenn has a wide array of talents and hobbies including surfing, snowboarding, philosophizing, backpacking, and completing triathlons and marathons.  Even more impressive than his list of talents is his depth of character and we are honored that our close friend Glenn will make our union official.

The Groomsmen - I am incredibly lucky to call this fine group of men my friends.  If they all possess one common personality trait, it is humility, so please allow me to share some of what I feel are a few of their greatest accolades and attributes.

Best Man - Colin Shaughnessy - Try to spend an hour with Colin and not have fun, I'll take that bet anytime.  His energy and enthusiasm are contagious and his loyalty to his friends and family is without question.  Put Colin in any situation, and he will flourish.  Add Colin to any situation, and it will be better.  Since graduating from Stanford, Colin has enjoyed great success in his professional life, and more recently, in his family life as a husband and father.  He has been a great friend for the last 14 years, and I am honored to have him as my best man.

Sean McEachern (Seanny) - Between living together during and after college, multiple international travel adventures, and accepting our first jobs together, Sean and I have many great memories from the last 14 years.  An avid surfer, fisherman, snowboarder who also read this week's economist and can discuss the current health care policy while he BBQs a delicious fish dinner that he caught, filleted, and marinated earlier in the day.  Well-read, well-spoken, well-traveled, successful; overall impressive human being that I am lucky to call my friend.

Todd Snider (Todi/Lodi/Frank) -  Lisa and I have Todd and his wife Rebecca to thank for introducing us during a visit to San Diego a few years back.  A best friend, roommate, teammate, and road trip companion dating back to Stanford Water Polo camp as 16 year old high school sophomores.  Todd has been a part of nearly every fun adventure I've had in the last 14 years.  Todd graduated from Stanford with his Master's degree and a NCAA Championship, and is currently working in the green sector while single-handedly trying to bring back tank-tops on the side.

Brian Heifferon (Heff) - The epitome of a self-less person, Brian and his family are generous to no end.  A great friend, teammate, roommate, surfer, snowboarder, volleyball and basketball player, and travel companion.  A multiple time All-American, Olympic caliber water polo player, as well as a successful entrepreneur all wrapped up in a genuinely nice guy.

Jeremy Bart (Barto) - Barto is a quality character with an easy laugh and a great sense of humor.  Between surfs, fishing trips, road trips, concerts, and long days at the beach, Barto's been a key player in a good majority of the fun times I've had since moving to Southern California.  Barto is a NCAA Champion in Men's Volleyball, who when he isn't fishing or surfing these days, spends his time protecting the homes and communities of Orange County as a fireman.

Adam Messner (Mez) - Mez and I shared a set of bunk beds freshman year and have been friends ever since.  Adam is a prolific swimmer winning individual and team NCAA Championships several times over.  Since college, Adam has dedicated more of his time to his other hobbies; fishing, surfing, kite-surfing, snowboarding, and his family.  Adam has a tremendous sense of humor, as well as sense of adventure which makes any opportunity to hang out with him a guaranteed good time.

Mike Eglington - Quite possibly the smartest person I know, Mike never ceases to amaze me with his breadth of knowledge and intellectual curiosity.  In addition to the fact that he literally is a rocket scientist (PhD in aeronautical engineering), Mike also plays squash, tennis, cycles, swims, runs, surfs, windsurfs, completes triathlons, and is an expert volleyball player.  He has been a tremendous husband to my sister, father to my niece Aidyn, and overall a wonderful addition to our family.

Eric Nudleman (Nudle) - Nudle truly is one of a kind.  In high school, he was a member of his chemistry club and his surf team - a rare combination indeed.  Dr. Eric Nudleman, MD/PhD currently in residency with a plan to complete two additional fellowships, father x 2, husband, surfer, snowboarder, musician, marathoner, triathlete.  In general, an epic human being who somehow balances it all and is winning at the game of life.

The Ladies!
I am so honored to introduce you to some of the most amazing wonderful women in my life.

Maid of Honor: Marci Jardine
My twin and best friend.  Marci is spontaneous, yet sophisticated, comes across as serious, but is quite comical and is always the first to laugh at herself. We have traveled all of the roads between CA and CO together all while singing at the top of our lungs and trying to figure out the meaning of life.  She has been a roommate, partner in crime, confidant, companion, and now the lovely Maid of Honor.  There isn’t much in life for the last 31 years that I have experienced without Marci a close step away.  We have lived together in Hawaii, Colorado, the San Juan Islands, and now California and I am so happy she made the move out to San Diego 2 years ago!

The Lovely Bridesmaids

Rebecca Snider:
Rebecca and I met during our first year at The University of Colorado at Boulder while trying out for a soccer team and have shared parallel lives ever since.  Years ago, before we knew that Pasi and Todd (now her husband) existed, we had a conversation at a restaurant in West Hollywood about how she knew that we would be having a similar evening together in the future with our husbands who were going to be great friends.  I will be forever grateful for her amazing insight and for visiting me one weekend many summers ago and providing Pasi and I with the opportunity to meet each other.

Jaisy Jardine:
My older sister and role model, the most thoughtful and considerate person I have ever known.  She has the uncanny ability to succeed in anything she attempts and pave a path that is almost too pristine to follow.  Whether it is through outreach programs in Boulder Colorado, planning and executing corporate events for thousands of people in San Diego, coordinating weddings, or heading the public relations department of the Fairmont Orchid on the Big Island of Hawaii, she has succeeded and done so with grace and humility.  I am so lucky to have her as our unofficial wedding planner, bridesmaid, and most importantly, sister.

Jana Jardine:
My sweet little sister, Jana has been an inspiration for me.  It was Jana who always pushed me to be more than I thought I could be and do more than I thought I could do.  Jana is tender-hearted, unbelievably loyal and the sweetest most kind little bundle of love. Jana is always updating me with the newest iPhone apps, electronics and must-haves. Since moving to San Diego she has become my go-to-girl with our Sunday morning breakfasts at The Coffee Cup & Cantina, watching movies that Pas would never go to and keeping me company when I bring the boys (Bogey & Finn) out to play. She is always there when I need her and I am so lucky to have her so close.

Anona Dutton:
Anona is an amazing mother, wife, sister, athlete and soon to be sister-in-law.  Anona and I met when she came to La Jolla to visit Pasi and ran the La Jolla ½ marathon in my place. In true Anona grace she ended up running so fast that she was one of the top 100 finishers and provided me with a new PR!!  Since meeting Anona, I have learned that it is possible to  gracefully juggle a full time job, plan amazing weekend camping trips, rock climb, mountain and road bike, do yoga, swim, run and workout during the week while raising a beautifully well balanced and healthy daughter. She has set the bar pretty high and I am looking forward to all of the family outings we have in our future.

Laura Filbert:
Laura is creative, thoughtful, enthusiastic and kind. One of my favorite running friends and the most crafty/creative person I know.  If I could bottle up and share Laura’s energy and enthusiasm towards life, the world would be a better place. It is rare to find Laura not working on a project, planning an event, or on an adventure with friends.  My life has been richer since meeting Laura 5 years ago.

Jessica Bledsoe:
Jessica is, in a word, adorable.  Another fellow CU Boulder alum and multiple time marathoner.  Jessica and I met on the tail end of a 15 mile training run, and in true Jess form, she was bouncing with each step while excitedly telling me about the exciting evening she had the night before.  Jessica is the most genuine, loyal, attentive, giving, and kind friend anyone could hope for.  I am so lucky we met during that training run and am so grateful that she will be standing with me on my wedding day.

April Gaut:
Although Washington D.C, stole her away from us for a few years, we are all so happy she is back in San Diego.  After running at Villanova on a full scholarship, April has more recently added marathons and triathlons to her impressive athletic resume.  April is extremely accomplished, smart, fun and driven, yet has a child-like innocence that is incredibly endearing.  She has endless energy and it is great to have April back during this special time in my life.
