WEEKEND ATTIRE
We would love for all of you to be comfortable, casual and warm for the weekend. Pasi and I are praying for sunny skies and warm nights, but in case we lose our ability to control the weather you may have to bring some of your own personal warmth. The average high temperature in the Santa Barbara area in early April is around 70° (although the past two years have seen temps as high as 85°); at night temperatures fall dramatically and can dip into the upper 40’s. Bring LAYERS (including a scarf and jackets). There will be heat lamps and fire pits at all events. We want you to be warm and happy so don’t worry about wearing a puffy jacket to the reception!
CEREMONY AND RECEPTION (SATURDAY)
For the ceremony and reception (both outdoors) the bridal party and many guests will be dressed semi-formally (please no jeans). The remainder of the weekend will be comfortable and casual. There will be a short walk from the ceremony at The Sunken Gardens of the Santa Barbara County Courthouse to the reception at the University Club. After the ceremony and reception we will head back to El Capitan Canyon Resort. The terrain of El Capitan Canyon in uneven so choose your shoes accordingly. Ladies, if you need some height I would suggest wearing wedges, as navigating around the resort in heels may be tricky. Make sure your outfit includes a warm layer as temperatures fall significantly after sundown. As mentioned above, we will have heat lamps and fire pits, but those used to the Hawaiian temperatures may need a little extra layering.
